New BMW R 1300 GS 2024: The Adventure Bike that Has It All

BMW R 1300 GS

The BMW R 1300 GS is the newest adventure bike from Germany, featuring a larger, more powerful engine, a lighter, stiffer frame, and advanced technology for improved comfort and enjoyment.

The engine has been bumped up to 1,300cc from 1,254cc, delivering 145 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the ShiftCam system, you can access this power at any rpm, while also enjoying smoother and quieter operation, along with an impressive new exhaust note.

The frame is now constructed from steel sheet metal for increased compactness and rigidity, while the subframe is made of die-cast aluminum instead of steel, shedding 26 lbs for enhanced agility and responsiveness

Additionally, the suspension has been upgraded, featuring a new EVO Paralever in the rear and an EVO Telelever in the front.

The bike offers four standard ride modes: Road, Rain, Eco, and Enduro, with the option to add Riding Modes Pro for customization, including Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, and Enduro Pro modes.

Safety features include LED matrix headlights, Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Brake Assist (DBC), and Hill Start Control (HSC) for added ease and security.

The design of the bike is also updated, with a new GS Flyline that gives it a sporty and dynamic look. The windscreen is adjustable for better comfort, and the hand protection is expanded for better protection.

The bike also has a luggage plate that lets you attach your bags easily.

The BMW R 1300 GS is available in three versions: the basic version with the GS Flyline, the Trophy version with more off-road features, and the Option 719 Tramuntana version with exclusive equipment.

The starting price for the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS base model is $18,895, excluding destination charges. BMW North America anticipates its availability in the market in early 2024.
